History of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration

The Faculty of Economics and Technology was renaimed in the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration in 1997. It is one of the largest at the university. More than 340 students, inter alia, citizens of the Russian Federation, the People's Republic of China (under general and advanced higher education programs in English), and the  Republic of Tunisia study at the faculty.

The faculty consists of three departments:

Department of Economics and Electronic Business

Department of Marketing and Finance

Department of Mathematics and Information Technologies

 

Specialists are being trained in the following fields:

Economics of electronic business (economist-programmer);

Economics and management at the enterprise (economist-manager);

Marketing (marketing economist);

Finance and Credit (economist);

Economics and organization of production (consumer goods industry) (engineer-economist);

Information systems and technologies in business management (programmer. business analyst).

Due to classes equipped with modern computers students have the opportunity to gain practical skills of applying information technology in their occupation. 

Graduates of the faculty work in the  labour and salary departments, planning, economic and financial departments, commercial services of enterprises and firms, banks, insurance companies, tax offices, economic laboratories of research-and-development and design institutes.

The scientific research of the faculty's teachers focuses on:

– improving the economic mechanism;

– increasing the mobility of consumer goods industry and the service sector under market conditions based on determining the main directions of economic development, rational use of raw materials, labour resources, improving the price setting and taxation system;

– the use of information technology to model and optimize economic tasks.
